Can you imagine your phone charging while your charger is sticking on your ceiling? Now its not a dream anymore.
Magnetic induction or Chi chargers let you just plunk down your phone on a little pad to get juiced up which is really cool, way better then wires. But the problem is that they worked over very short distances and they need to be correctly aligned for optimal efficiency.
What if I told you that there is a better way? What if I told you that your phone and your gadgets get charged by a light fixture on your ceiling? Today it's become possible by Wi-Charger long range wireless power delivery system.
Wi-Charger
Wi-Charge delivers freedom from power outlets and battery changes. Using safe invisible light, our products provide enough power to charge a phone across a room. With Wi-Charge, mobile and IoT devices appear to charge autonomously.
Key Features
- Provides power at a distance - Wi-Charger delivers several watts from several meters which is enough to charge smart phones, power smart gadgets and much more,
- Completely safe - Wi-Charger is FDA-approved and complies with government standards worldwide.
- Wide coverage - a single transmitter can cover 250 square feet.
- Automatic - transmitters find enabled devices and power them without intervention.
- Efficient linking - nearly 100% link efficiency.
- Devices support - supports many simultaneous devices.
- Scalable - multiple transmitters can be combined to increase coverage and power.
- Smart power delivery - power delivery according to parameters from the receiving-device.
- EMI-free - does not interfere with WiFi, wireless phones, etc.
- Market-ready - there are many wire-less appliances and self charging devices in production.
How wi-charger works?
Power is delivered using safe, focused, beams of invisible infrared light.
Transmitters connect to a standard power source and deliver power to nearby receivers. Receivers use a miniature photovoltaic cell to convert transmitted light into electrical power.
Receivers can be embedded in mobile devices or connected into an existing charging port. Transmitters automatically identify chargeable devices and discover their power requirements. Several devices can charge at the same time. Power priority is based on power requirements, battery level and other parameters.
You will easily understand it's working by following three steps:
- Transmitter searches the devices that need to be powered.
-
Once found, a focused beam of IR light is sent to the device.
-
If the light beam is broken, transmission stops. Once the path is cleared, power delivery resumes.

Recievers
External Receiver
The external Wi-Charge receiver offers wireless power for products that do not yet embed a Wi-Charge receiver. A standard connector provides power to the device.
External receivers can be a dongle using µUSB or Lightning connectors. They can also be embedded in a phone case. They offer a powerful and convenient bridge to power existing devices over distance.
